The birth of a jewel
♡Each Grizzly is unique, designed and meticulously studied by our team in our creative studio. Each piece of jewelry is then entirely handmade.
Carefully manufactured in small series in Montreuil and predominantly by our French artisan partner abroad. As jewelry experts, 15 manual operations are required for a Grizzly to come to life. All our jewelry is made of 750/1000 gilded brass.
The idea
Each piece of jewelry is like a little Proustian madeleine (yum!). Our team of creatives designs pieces that are as comforting and delicious as a hug. To design them, we draw inspiration from the world of childhood, the tenderness of a memory, the sweetness of a smell, a color... Everything is an excuse to dream, and at Grizzly, we’ve made it our profession!
The design
This is the stage of cut paper, tests, rulers and graph paper! We draw, we measure, we redraw, we remeasure to create technical files. We also create our own color ranges: each color is chosen in our creative studio, comes to life as enamel, and is then classified in a Grizzly-signed color library.
The models
Every piece of jewelry has its own model: either 3D-designed or sculpted in wax. Every detail is modeled in volume with the utmost care. It's a perpetual challenge for our expert artisans, who are tasked with creating Grizzly's iconic pieces: the Pockets. These treasured pieces open to hold a small love note ♡
We don't rest on our creative laurels; the more challenging it is to create, the more we love it!
The magical details
After the meticulous modeling stage comes the creation of our own molds. Like hot little cakes, our jewelry comes out of the oven! Each piece still has to go through a host of entirely handmade steps before coming to life. Sanding, polishing, soldering, then it's time for the gold bath! Then enameling, which consists of meticulously applying our beautiful colors. Assembly comes at the end of the process. No less than 15 operations will be necessary to bring our Grizzly jewelry to life. It is this very specific process that makes each piece of jewelry unique, a small treasure slightly different each time.
All our jewelry is made in limited editions. Our ephemeral collections are never re-released (hurry up!) and average only about fifty pieces for the whole world... As for our timeless pieces, they are re-released in mini-series about twice a year.
